Welcome to Oregon State University Research Forests Research Projects Website
Since 1926, Oregon State University has conducted hundreds of studies across the College of Forestry’s 15,000 acres of research forests. These studies have contributed to our understanding of forest ecosystems and have helped inform impactful solutions to the everyday and real-world challenges of sustainably managing forests for many uses.
We invite you to explore our database of research projects and learn more about the important work that takes place in the forests. Search by keyword, or browse a list of research topics, below.
Note: This database is not comprehensive and is a work-in-progress. It currently includes research conducted prior to 2013. Not all research projects listed provide access to a publication (thesis, dissertation, journal article or report). We are working to include research projects and access to publications after 2013. Examples of more recent research and publications from 2017-2023 can be found here. If you are looking for information on a specific study or have feedback on the database, please email forestrycommunications@oregonstate.edu.
