Water Relations of Trees in Western Oregon

Purpose

This project involves monitoring the changes in water relations characteristics of 7 species of trees located in this area. The species are Ponderosa Pine, Douglas fir, Madrone, Oak, Big-leaf mapel, grand fir, and hazelnut. Trees will be sampled 6 times

Interference between over and understory on Douglas-fir seedlings at different gap positions

Purpose

Plant moisture stress, light availability, height, diameter, and vigor of seedlings will be compared to different amounts of understory vegetation and distance to the overstory of the gaps.
