Space requirements and Yields for Free Growing Douglas-fir Trees

Purpose

What density should be carried throughout various phases of the rotation to produce maximum returns from an acre of land? 60 trees free of competition were measured for DBH, total height, age @ breast height, and crown diameter. Yield table constructed,

Comparison of Seedling Planting Density on Growth of Douglas-fir Seedlings

Purpose

Project is designed to compare two spacing regimens for planting of Douglas-fir seedlings. Clusters of Douglas-fir trees were planted at 25' spacing and compared to a conventional 8'x8' spacing. Interplanting with alder to test soil enrichment effects.

Oak Creek Snails

Purpose

Trays filled with stream sediment will be placed in the channel for colonization by stream invertebrates. Snail densities in each tray will be manipulated to test the effect of snails on the abundance of other stream invertebrates. One half of the chann
