Comparison of Seedling Planting Density on Growth of Douglas-fir Seedlings

Purpose

Project is designed to compare two spacing regimens for planting of Douglas-fir seedlings. Clusters of Douglas-fir trees were planted at 25' spacing and compared to a conventional 8'x8' spacing. Interplanting with alder to test soil enrichment effects.

Vegetation Classification of McDonald and Dunn Forests

Purpose

Forest will be stratified by soils, physiography, and site index. 200 to 300 Reconnaisance plots will be permanently placed within strata. Plots will preferably be tied to timber inventory plots. Vegetation will have estimated cover per cent and identi

Cluster Planting Trial

Purpose

The purpose of this trial is to test the effect of planting trees in clusters of 3 at a 21' spacing and compare it to normal 1 tree spacing of 12'x12'. This study will also include the effects of grid versus cluster on the plant community in the area. T
