History of Two Mixed Stands in McDonald Forest

Purpose

Objective of project is to reconstruct the stand history of two undisturbed Douglas-fir dominated stands by mapping the present stand structure, determining age distribution of all tree species, and examining regeneration patterns of Douglas-fir, grand fi

Patch Dynamics Study

Purpose

The study will be looking at rates of vegetation closure through the years using aerial photographs. The sites will be used to gather some simple measures of opening size, current canopy size, and age of dominant perimeter trees.

Forest Peak Uneven -aged Stand Mangement

Purpose

This project involves regeneration (natural and planted) of the uneven aged Forest Peak stand. It includes monitoring seedling/sapling growth after harvest, with and without vegetation management treatment. This is an adaptive management type study where
