Natural Reproduction in Douglas-fir Stands as Affected by the Size of Opening

Purpose

Minimum size of opening for vigourous Douglas-fir reproduction. Species composition of dominant canopy . Density and distribution of the reproduction with observations of factors that have the greatest effect on their determination.

Patch Dynamics Study

Purpose

The study will be looking at rates of vegetation closure through the years using aerial photographs. The sites will be used to gather some simple measures of opening size, current canopy size, and age of dominant perimeter trees.
