Corvallis Area Rain Gauge Project

Purpose

There is one rain gauge structure approximately 2'X2' and 4' high. This rain gauge is one of a network of rain gauges in the Corvallis area. The experiment is aimed at defining the variations in rainfall in this localized area.

Forest Microclimatelogical Mechanisms

Purpose

Micrometeorological tower installation on the McDonald Forest. He would anticipate that the tower would be in place and used intermittently for approximately one year, at which time he would remove the tower and leave the site unaltered.

Concentration of airborne microorganisms at various locations in Oregon

Purpose

Microbiological Pest Control Agents (MPCA's) are usually applied aerially and are later dispersed from deposition sited into the atmosphere. Air samples are being collected to evaluate the background bacterial load to establish a baseline concentration o

Consequences of Canopy Interception for Stability of Slopes

Purpose

For field validation of a model that will describe the short term variation in canopy storage of rainfall. The goal is to determine 1)the contribution of canopy interception of rainfall to stability of slopes by its effects on short term water balance on

Regional Study: Air pollution measurements

Purpose

Tie measurements of of nitrogen and sulfer-containing air pollutants to ecological effects on forested ecosytems. This is a stepping stone to the development of a regional 'critical load' that can be used in regulatory decision-making arenas with regard t
